Aluminum has emerged as interesting and appealing metal for contemporary sculptures that depicts lot of energy and movement. These sculptures give a feather light appearance as they are crafted from thin sheets of aluminum.

  • Some abstract art works crafted by using aluminum wires are ideal to impart a chic look to home décor. Widely used to craft wall sculptures, light weight of aluminum is helpful to hang the sculptures easily from wall.
  • The malleable nature of aluminum allows the crafter to bend, cut and give shape easily. This gives the artist freedom to be innovative.
  • Common adhesives can be used to glue the pieces together. Softer nature of aluminum makes hammering, chiseling, etching and wire brushing easier thus creating unusual and appealing effects in wall sculptures.
  • There are some limitations for aluminum sculptures. Acrylic colors are not compatible and finer works are prone to damage requiring extra care. Polyurethanes are used by some artist to give appealing color while most prefer the natural glaze.
